The third day of Coachella Weekend 1 always has a different rhythm than the first two.
The attendees are naturally a little worn out after 48 hours of having all of their senses battered by base beats, heat, screams, dancing, wind, food and late nights. The Sunday crowd is often late arriving, and that was the case agan this year.
But once the non-early birds got here around 6 p.m., they were ready to go. Here were the best and worst moments from Coachella 2026 Weekend 1 Day 3.
BEST MOMENTS
Redemption for Anyma
After having to cancel his Friday set on the main stage due to high winds, Italian-American DJ Anyma was given a second chance as the special Sunday night guest at the Do Lab, a smaller area primed for EDM danceathons.
The star was all smiles as he took the stage with fellow DJ Marlon Hoffstadt, who he was performing with. The pair were greeted by a large crowd that was spilling beyond the immediate Do Lab area, a feat that felt impressive given that Kaskade, Karol G and BIGBANG were all playing at the same time. To our surprise, Anyma didn’t address the Friday cancellation or even utter a word during the first 25 minutes of the set (after which, admittedly, we had to leave, so it’s possible we missed it).
A big day for punk at Coachella
“Do you feel lucky, punk?” Dirty Harry said that in the 1970s, and if you are a fan of punk music, you would’ve considered yourself lucky Sunday.
With acts like Suicidal Tendencies, who put on a much raved about show, as well as other punk outfits like The Chats and Black Flag, the genre that had its heyday in the late 1970s had a resurgence Sunday at Coachella. And that doesn’t even count post-punk Iggy Pop, who still impressed at age 78 with a sterling show on Sunday.
Special guests aplenty Sunday
A steady diet of big names popped up as surprise guest performers throughout the day Sunday, including but not limited to:
Chilly-Chella
What some have been calling chilly-Chella because of lower-than-normal temperatures, I officially dubbed Jeans-Chella on Sunday as for the first time in years, it made sense to wear long pants with the high temperature in the 70s before quickly decreasing when the sun went down. For comparison, the high in Indio Sunday was 76, while last year on April 12 (Saturday at Coachella 2025) it was 100 degrees.
The truth is the cooler temps have been a nice change of pace that I could get used to. The gusty winds that accompanied the cooldown did make it tough to move around on the grounds as you had to keep your eyes and lungs protected from blowing sand. And the night-time temps dipped under 60 degrees which is almost unheard of.
I do feel bad for the campers though. It’s hard to keep anything pinned down in these conditions.
THE WORST MOMENTS
Honestly? The only downside to Sunday, other than being a little chilly by the end of the night, was that the lineup was weaker than Friday and Saturday’s, so we weren’t as interested in many of the sets.
However, ending the entire festival on a joyful (and history-making) set like Karol G’s just makes it impossible to hate on Sunday.
