A man was shot twice in the chest as an argument turned to gunfire in Hesperia early Thursday, authorities said.
The shooting, which was being investigated as a murder attempt, took place shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 11 in the 12900 block of Palmeto Way, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
“The victim and the suspect, an unknown Black male, were seated in front of a tent when an argument occurred,” according to a sheriff’s department statement. “During the argument, the suspect was heard stating he wanted to shoot the victim. Seconds later, two gunshots were fired, striking the victim in the torso.”
The victim, who was shot twice in the chest, was flown to a trauma center by helicopter for treatment. An update on his condition was not available, nor was his age.
No further details, including a suspect description, were released.
