The San Francisco 49ers have one fewer draft pick this year after agreeing to send their third-round pick (the No. 92 selection) to the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday in exchange for defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.
While the trade netted the 49ers a 17-sack defensive lineman in Odighizuwa, it also means San Francisco only has one pick on Day 2 of the draft. However, the team four picks on Day 3 — all in the fourth round.
Here are the remaining 49ers draft picks after the trade for Odighizuwa:
While losing the No. 92 pick is tough, Odighizuwa is a certified body in the middle of the defensive line. In five seasons for the Cowboys, Odighizuwa registered 216 combined tackles, 81 quarterback hits, 17 sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass defensed. He joins Alfred Collins in the middle of the line.
The 49ers have a ton of firepower in the fourth round, too, meaning they can easily move back up into the third round if John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan see a player they covet.
This also means defensive linemen are likely off the board for the 49ers’ first two picks at Nos. 27 and 58.
