The Los Angeles Lakers are about to begin a very important offseason when it comes to how the next several years could transpire. They’re projected to have tens of millions of dollars of salary cap space, as well as two future first-round draft picks to offer in a trade, and those resources could allow them to start to truly build a championship-caliber team around Luka Doncic.
Los Angeles will also have the No. 25 pick in this year’s draft. They have been working out prospects in this year’s draft class, including Peter Suder, a guard out of Miami University in Ohio.
Suder has good size at 6-foot-5 and roughly 215 pounds, and he has a 6-foot-8 wingspan. As a senior this past season, he averaged 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, four assists and 1.3 steals a game while shooting 54.6% from the field and 42.1% from 3-point range.
He has triple-threat skills and seems to know how to read defenses and make the right pass at a relatively high level. He has also been praised for his basketball IQ and for stepping up his game in big moments. In the first round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament, Suder scored 27 points on 7-of-12 overall shooting and 4-of-7 from downtown against the University of Tennessee.
However, he lacks athleticism, and his defense is a concern. At best, he seems to be projected to go late in the second round of the NBA draft.
