The Spartans (22-8) will try to pass that total when they open the NCAA tournament against Colorado State at 7:30 p,m. Friday, March 20 at the University of Oklahoma. A win would give MSU its most victories in a season since going 25-9 in 2015-16.
The matchup marks just the second all-time meeting between MSU and Colorado State. The Spartans beat Colorado State, 72-45, at the Caribbean Classic in Cancun, Mexico in Dec. 2011.
Colorado State won the Mountain West tournament and played just one game against teams in the NCAA tourney field. The Rams recorded a 70-66 road win over Gonzaga on Nov. 13.
MSU will try to win an NCAA tournament game for a second straight season. The Spartans beat Harvard in their NCAA tournament opener in 2025 before falling to NC State in the second round.
