The Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce will move from the organization’s current building on Eighth Street in Holland into Lakeshore Advantage’s Next Center in the coming months.
According to an announcement issued June 27, the organization will move into the third floor of the Next Center by early 2026. The chamber is in the process of selling the building at 272 E. Eighth St. and will operate from a temporary location at 175 S. Waverly Road beginning Aug. 1.
Jodi Owczarski, president and CEO, called the move “bold,” and said it reflects momentum in the area’s business community.
“This new space gives us the opportunity to dream bigger, connect deeper, and create even more impact for our members and the community,” Owczarski said. “It’s an intentional step forward that reflects who we are and where we’re going — and we’re just getting started.”
The new space will include expanded gathering areas, flexible meeting rooms and adaptable workspaces designed for members to enhance collaboration and connection. It will also provide a home for the Chamber Career Center, an initiative designed to connect business and education.
The move will strengthen an already close collaboration with Lakeshore Advantage, the organization responsible for The Next Center, although the entities aren’t merging.
The three-story, 20,000-square-foot building was completed in November 2024. It’s home to Lakeshore Advantage, a diverse group of start-ups and other tenants.
The chamber won’t disclose the entity purchasing the building at 272 E. Eighth St. until the sale closes in July. The space was built in 1972 and has been used by the chamber for the past 30+ years, with an extensive facelift in 2017.
