Two Cheboygan baseball stars collect Northern Shores first team honors

CHEBOYGAN — Nolan Schley and Josh Clark were Cheboygan’s top two baseball players in 2026.

Recently, the two Chiefs picked up major honors for their play on the field this past season.

Schley, a junior center fielder, and Clark, a senior first baseman, both earned nods on the all-Northern Shores Conference first team.

During his junior campaign, Schley was one of the top outfielders in the conference. Offensively, he hit .292 with 12 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

Clark batted .240 with 14 RBIs offensively, while also being a standout on defense at first base. Clark also captured Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA) academic all-district accolades.

Other Cheboygan players securing all-conference honors were senior Charlie Godfrey, who made the NSC second team, and sophomore Brody McGovern, who was recognized as an honorable mention.

At Cheboygan’s end-of-season team banquet on Monday, June 22, Schley was recognized as the team’s most valuable player and best offensive player, while Clark received the top defensive player award and coaches award.
