Fresh off the retirement of Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow, the Detroit Lions have added another veteran to the mix. The Lions are signing Trystan Colon, according to reports including one from Mike Garafolo.
Colon, 27, spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He played his first three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens after a collegiate career at Missouri. He has played both guard positions as well as center in the NFL. Colon started seven games at right guard for Arizona last season, earning a total PFF grade of 71.0.
Colon joins a Lions line that has some real uncertainty across the interior following Ragnow’s retirement. Veteran Graham Glasgow has experience at all three positions. In last week’s OTA sessions, second-round rookie Tate Ratledge took the first-team center reps, with Glasgow at right guard and Christian Mahogany on the left side. Michael Niese and Kinglsey Eguakun are other options at center, and Colby Sorsdal has begun cross-training at the position, too.
Contractual details for Colon are not yet available.
