The Detroit Lions announced the release of cornerback Terrion Arnold on Monday.
Arnold, 23, was arrested last Wednesday in connection to a February armed robbery and kidnapping case in Florida. Arnold’s charges carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison.
Though Arnold was granted bond in a pre-trial detention hearing held earlier Monday morning, the Lions chose to release Arnold. Detroit’s decision to release Arnold removes any conversation of Arnold potentially joining the team for next month’s 2026 training camp.
Arnold, a 2024 first-round NFL draft pick by the Lions, appeared in 24 games and started 22 with the Lions over his first two NFL seasons.
Now that the Lions have released Arnold, what does that decision mean for Detroit’s dead cap situation in 2026 and in 2027.
