Szymoniak, Langworthy earn all-Ski Valley softball first team nods

It was a big senior season for Onaway’s Marley Szymoniak and Inland Lakes’ Alexys Langworthy.  

Szymoniak made a great defensive impact as an infielder.

Langworthy was superb in the outfield.  

Both were terrific offensive performers.  

As a result of their performances on the field and offensively, Szymoniak and Langworthy earned nods on the 2026 all-Ski Valley Conference softball first team.  

Playing in her final season with Onaway, Szymoniak lifted the Cardinals to a second consecutive MHSAA Division 4 district championship. Szymoniak will continue her career at Delta College next season.

As for Langworthy, she was a key member of the Bulldogs, who had a strong record in Ski Valley play.

Earning spots on the Ski Valley’s second team were Inland Lakes’ Azalia Carper (pitcher), Khali Woollard (infield) and Taylor Nutt (first base), Onaway’s Natalee Hyde (infield), Layla Box (outfield) and Aleigha Garms (at-large), and Pellston’s Ella Klungle (at-large).  

Area players earning Ski Valley honorable mention recognition were Kalli Williamson (Inland Lakes), Breanna Willis (Pellston) and Lanie Irwin (Pellston).  

Bellaire’s Brooklyn Fisher was named the Ski Valley’s 2026 softball player of the year.
