GAYLORD — A man wanted in connection with a stabbing incident in Gaylord last month appeared in Otsego County Court on Monday, June 30.

Darryl Fisher-Stubbs is facing charges of attempted murder and home invasion in connection with an attack in a motel room in Gaylord on June 13. Fisher-Stubbs, 36, allegedly stabbed and slashed Joshua Miley, 34, with a serrated weapon. Miley was taken to Otsego Memorial Hospital for treatment.

After the incident, Gaylord Police issued a warrant for Fisher-Stubbs, who was apprehended on June 14 in Seward County, Kansas during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody without incident.

Fisher-Stubbs appeared before Judge Kevin Hesselink, who entered a not guilty plea for him to both charges. Hesselink also approved a court-appointed attorney to represent Fisher-Stubbs and set his bail at $200,000 cash or surety.

Hesselink also ordered a conference hearing in the next seven days on the matter and said a preliminary hearing would be held in 21 days. It was noted that Fisher-Stubbs does not appear to have a criminal history.
