CHESTER TWP. — A 29-year-old Sunfield man died after a two-vehicle June 15 crash at Mulliken Road and M-50, northwest of Charlotte in Eaton County.
State troopers said on X they were dispatched to the Mulliken/M-50 intersection around noon, and a preliminary investigation shows a southbound 2025 Chevy Equinox ignored a stop sign and crashed into 2021 Chrysler Pacifica traveling northwest on M-50.
The Sunfield man – a passenger in the Pacifica – was ejected and taken to the hospital UM Health Sparrow-Charlotte hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 30-year-old Mulliken woman driving the Chevy Equinox and 43-year-old Portland woman driving the Pacifica were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
“It is unknown at this time if the victim was wearing a safety belt,” the MSP post said. “Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.”
An investigation continues. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Lansing Post at 517-322-1907.
