See which Greater Lansing high school softball players were named all-state

DeWitt’s Natalie Donaldson and Williamston’s Jaiden Griffith, who are both signed to to continue their careers at Division I college programs, are among the players from Greater Lansing who have been named to the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association all-state team.

Donaldson, a Georgia signee, and Griffith, who is signed with Virginia, were each named first team all-state in Division 2. Donaldson earned first team all-state honors for a third straight season and Griffith repeated as a first team all-state selection.

Fowler junior Saige Miller, a Maryland commit, also earned all-state honors and was a first team selection in Division 4 for a second straight season.

The Division I-bound players are joined on the all-state squad by several standouts from area programs, including Grand Ledge, Laingsburg, Lansing Catholic, Owosso, Waverly, Perry, Ithaca, Dansville, Portland St. Patrick and Carson City-Crystal.

Grand Ledge outfielder Jade Queen earned first team all-state honors in Division 1 and helped the Comets make a run to the state quarterfinals. Grand Ledge also had junior pitcher Tomia Geter and Adyson Fulton earn honorable mention accolades.

Owosso had a pair of players honored, with catcher Ady Freeman earning first team recognition in Division 2 and Audri Hmcharik being named honorable mention all-state.

Waverly third baseman Dani Anzaldua was the other area athlete recognized in Division 2 and was an honorable mention selection.

Perry pitcher Sara Austin led the area selections in Division 3 and was named first team all-state.

Laingsburg, which reached the Division 3 quarterfinals, had shortstop Bella Latuszek and first baseman Savanna Stirm named honorable mention all-state. Ithaca also had a pair of honorable mention all-state selections in pitcher Ivy Davenport and first baseman Maeli Akin.

Lansing Catholic third baseman Avery Dunneback, who helped the Cougars win the Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Softball Classic, was also an honorable mention all-state pick in Division 3.

Joining Fowler’s Miller as a first team all-state selection in Division 4 was Dansville outfielder Ryker Graf. Fowler pitcher Selena Stump, Dansville pitcher Laci Neal, Portland St. Patrick shortstop Gracelyn Rockey and Carson City-Crystal outfielder Calli Heleski were honorable mention all-state selections in Division 4.
