The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place in the early morning hours of July 21.
According to a release, deputies responded around 1:45 a.m. to the 7-Eleven near Highland Road (M-59) and Grand River Avenue in Howell Township.
The clerk reportedly told authorities two male suspects with facial coverings entered the store while he was working alone. One of suspects, armed with a handgun, ordered him to open the safe, police said. When it couldn’t be opened, the clerk said he was struck in the head multiple times and forced to open the cash register, at which time the other suspect reportedly struck him in the face.
The suspects took an undetermined amount of money before ordering the clerk to lie on the floor until they left, according to LCSO. The clerk suffered minor injuries to his head, face and mouth.
