Howell’s MainStreet Winery will soon reopen under new owners who say customers can expect the same menu, staff and atmosphere once a license transfer is complete.
Jordan and Steve Lewis — the local residents who purchased the downtown business at 201 W. Grand River Ave. — shared updates about what customers can expect in a social media post June 23.
The couple wrote they’ve been loyal customers of the business for more than a decade.
“We couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds and for the opportunity to continue growing and sharing our love of amazing pizza, wonderful wine and unforgettable experiences with our friends, family and the entire (community),” the post reads.
John and Sandy Vyletel opened the boutique winery in 2006, producing signature wines and serving handmade thin-crust pizzas, cheese plates, baked brie and salads.
The Vyletels announced there would be a brief closure during the ownership transition June 17. Jordan and Steve wrote the prior owners “built something truly special.”
“We are honored and grateful for the opportunity to carry on what they started and continue providing an experience that customers love just as much as we do,” they wrote.
The new owners emphasized the pizza, wine and “cozy atmosphere that makes the winery so special” will remain unchanged.
Customers can also expect the same staff.
“We truly couldn’t do this without the amazing people who help make the winery what it is,” the couple wrote. “Their dedication, hard work, and love for this place are invaluable.”
The final step in the transition is completing a license transfer. The owners wrote they’ll share an official reopening date as soon as possible.
“We can’t wait to share this next chapter with all of you,” the post reads.
