Michigan State basketball has reportedly started to show interest in a high-level, near five-star prospect in the 2027 class.
Michigan State was one of many schools in attendance to watch near five-star small forward Asa Montgomery of Powder Springs, Ga. on Friday. According to a report from Sam Kayser of League Ready, Michigan State, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, UConn, Arizona, Auburn, Louisville, Houston, LSU, Alabama, Florida, Providence, Rutgers and Xavier were the notable schools to watch Montgomery on Friday.
Montgomery is listed as a four-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 98.94 in 247Sports’ composite system. He ranks as the No. 8 small forward and No. 29 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports composite.
Michigan State has not yet extended an offer to Montgomery, but one would think that’ll change in good time. According to 247Sports, he currently holds notable offers from Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Houston, LSU, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.
