Michigan State baseball is keeping their 2025 season alive, winning on senior night in dramatic fashion. The Spartans defeated the Golden Gophers, 11-10.
MSU needed to find a way to get past Minnesota this weekend in order to play in the Big Ten Tournament, and after dropping the first two games of the series, it was do-or-die for Michigan State. The Spartans prevailed.
After blowing an early 9-5 lead, the Spartans gave up a run in the top of the ninth to fall behind, 10-9. In the bottom half of the inning, Noah Bright opened things up with a lead off single. A couple of Spartans got on via a walk and a hit by pitch, and then it was MSU’s time to pounce.
A Jacob Anderson single tied the game at 10, setting up the Spartans for a game winner. Randy Seymour stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and one out – he delivered a game winner.
Seymour singled to center field, scoring Parker Picot, and delivering MSU a victory in their final regular season game of 2025. The Spartans defeated the Golden Gophers, 11-10.
Michigan State will now await the result of Northwestern’s game against UCLA. If the the Wildcats win, MSU is eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament and Northwestern will be taking the last spot. If Northwestern loses, Michigan State will sneak their way into Omaha next weekend.
Either way, Michigan State will conclude their 2025 season with a record of 28-25 (13-17 B1G).
