Motor City Comic Con, Michigan’s longest-running and largest pop culture convention got underway Friday, May 15, and will feature appearances by “Star Trek” original series’ Capt. James T. Kirk, otherwise known as William Shatner, as well as several actors from numerous other movies and TV shows.
In addition to Shatner, Jonathan Frakes and Brent Spiner from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Kit Harington andLena Headey from “Game of Thrones”, and Laz Alonso and Tomer Capone from “The Boys” are among the celebrity guests announced for event’s 37th year.
The three-day event also features comic creators, panels, cosplay contests and fan-focused programming, along with autograph and photo opportunities, Artists Alley and vendor exhibits.

Where does Motor City Comic Con take place?
The convention is at Vibe Credit Union Showplace, at 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi. The venue was previously known as the Suburban Collection Showcase. Grand River Avenue is accessible by Interstate 96, exiting at Novi or Beck roads.

Motor City Comic Con prop and weapons policy?
Cosplayers must present all props and weapons for inspection before entering the event. There will be a dedicated prop and weapons check table near the entrance.
Props and weapons must be non-functional and incapable of causing harm: They must not be able to fire projectiles of any kind.
Where can I park?
Visitors can park at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace for a $10 fee each day.
Can I carry a backpack?
Bags and backpacks are allowed, but are subject to a bag check by security.
How much are ticket prices?
Adult single-day tickets range from $38 to $48, while a weekend pass costs $105 online or $115 at the door. A VIP Fan Pass is $285 online or $299 at the door.
Are tickets on sale at the door?
Motor City Comic Con says it can’t guarantee tickets will be available at the door, but if they’re close to selling out, announcements will be posted on social media.
What is Artists Alley?
According to the event website, Artist Alley is a collection of more than 250 artists and writers from around the world showcasing and selling art.
How much are autographs?
Prices vary between celebrities, but visitors can walk up to a booth to receive an autograph. Most on-site autographs are cash only.
