Medical diagnostics firm plans $25M expansion in Lansing area, will add over 50 jobs

DELTA TWP. — IONETIX Corporation, a diagnostics and therapeutics company with operations in Delta Township and Lansing, is planning a more than $25 million expansion in the region.

The company, which specializes in the production and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals and targeted alpha therapy agents for diagnostic imaging and cancer treatment, will invest about $25.8 million and create 53 new Lansing area jobs, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s office said in a statement.

The expansion of its area facilities “will help the company increase their supply chain distribution of effective radiopharmaceutical products, accelerating the global effort to cure cancer,” according to the release.

The new jobs it will create are expected to start at $25 an hour, plus benefits.

“Delta Township and the Lansing region offer the ideal environment for IONETIX’s continued growth,” IONETIX Chief Executive Officer Kevin Cameron said. “The area’s highly skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and strong spirit of public-private collaboration make it the perfect location for our expansion. We are honored to invest in this community and proud that it is in the forefront of creating diagnostic and therapeutic innovations.”

The company received $750,000 through a Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant from Michigan Economic Development Corporation, as well as funds from the Michigan New Jobs Training Program and a Michigan Works! proposal for training and workforce support.

“IONETIX’s investment demonstrates Michigan’s emerging leadership in the high-growth radiopharmaceutical and nuclear medicine sectors,” said Bob Trezise, president and CEO of the Lansing Economic Area Partnership. “This expansion is not only creating high-wage, future-forward jobs – it’s solidifying Michigan’s position as a hub for advanced biomedical research, innovation, and manufacturing.”

The company has locations at 6424 Westland Way in Delta Township and 3130 Sovereign Drive in Lansing.
