Livingston residents say this grocery store has the best baked goods

For this month’s grocery poll, we asked our readers which store has the best selection of baked goods in Livingston County — and there was a clear favorite.

There’s no shortage of area grocery stores, from regional chains like Meijer and Kroger to bulk shopping options like Costco to local favorites like VG’s Grocery, Busch’s Fresh Food Market and Simply Fresh Market.

The offerings available, however, can vary from store to store, including the variety of items offered and the quality of those items.

According to our readers, the best spot for baked goods is Busch’s Fresh Food Market, which earned 33.33% of vote —twice as many as any other store. Busch’s was also recently named best for produce.

Costco and VG’s Grocery finished in a tie for second place, each with 16.67%. Other stores receiving votes included Kroger (13.89%), Meijer (13.89%) and Simply Fresh Market (5.56%).

This poll is part of our ongoing series “Grocery Guide,” which provides weekly price comparisons for staple items such as eggs and milk, monthly polls and other stories focused on the ongoing impact of inflation on local families.
