Allen Park — The Detroit Lions have reached the offseason’s roster limit.
After losing rookie Kendrick Law to a torn ACL during OTAs, the Lions on Wednesday announced the signings of three UFL receivers, including two who won the league’s most recent championship with the Louisville Kings.
Lucky Jackson was Louisville’s second-leading receiver last season, catching 32 passes for 392 yards and two touchdowns across 10 appearances. Tarik Black posted similar production, with 388 yards and three scores on 27 receptions over nine contests.
The Kings went 6-4 in the regular season and beat the D.C. Defenders in the title matchup earlier this month.
Black, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2017 who played three seasons at Michigan and one at Texas, went undrafted in 2021 before making stops with the Indianapolis Colts (2021), New York Jets (2021-22), Baltimore Ravens (2022-23), Pittsburgh Steelers (2024) and Miami Dolphins (2024-25). He caught a 10-yard pass with the Jets in 2021.
Jackson, meanwhile, also began his professional career as an undrafted free agent, though he played with the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2022) and Edmonton Elks (2022) before signing with the Defenders (2023), Minnesota Vikings (2023-25) and Kings (2026). He has three career appearances in the NFL, all coming in 2023. Jackson tallied 1,133 yards and four touchdowns on a Conference USA-best 94 catches as a senior at Western Kentucky in 2019.
Tay Martin, also signed by the Lions, played for the Columbus Aviators in 2026. He attended Washington State (2017-19) and Oklahoma State (2020-21) and has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers (2022-24), Tennessee Titans (2024) and Washington Commanders (2025).
The Lions are permitted to have 91 players on their offseason roster, instead of the typical 90, because of an international player exemption related to defensive end Ahmed Hassanein. The team entered Wednesday with two available roster spots. It created a third opening by placing Law on injured reserve.
