LANSING — Monday, July 20, is the last day to register online or by mail to vote in the Aug. 4 primary election, according to the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office.
That means that starting Tuesday, July 21, eligible residents must register in person at their local clerk’s office, with valid identification. Voters can register to vote in person until polls close on Election Day.
How to register in person
Starting July 21, residents must register at their local clerk’s office in person, with proof of residency, to be eligible to vote in the Aug. 4 primary. Anyone unsure of where their local clerk’s office is located can look that up at michigan.gov/vote.
