Another week, another collection of exceptional local students.
Each week, high school principals and staffers around Holland share their nominees for Student of the Week with The Sentinel. We share those honorees online Fridays and in print Sundays.
This week’s students were recognized for growth, maturity and integrity.
Josie VanderVeen, Holland Christian High School
Josie has shown so much growth and maturity over the past few years. Her genuine kindness and sensitivity to others who are struggling make her stand out among her peers. Josie has gone out of her way to encourage classmates who need support.
Bennett Bing, Zeeland East High School
Bennett Bing consistently demonstrates strong character and integrity in everything he does. He leads by example, makes the right choices, and treats everyone with respect both in the classroom and on the track. Recently, he’s stood out with his positive attitude and the way he uplifts those around him. Bennett has had tremendous impact on the ZEHS Class of 2026.
