For the past two years, Krue Anderson has been one of the best on the ice in West Michigan.
As a senior, he tallied 54 points in 27 games played for West Ottawa.
Anderson was selected as the Holland Sentinel Hockey Player of the Year for the second year in a row.
“He is every coach’s dream, a player who consistently works extremely hard both on and off the ice,” West Ottawa coach Tom Carey said. “Krue is a true leader in the locker room, setting the example and holding his teammates to the same high standards. He brings energy and sets the tempo every single day at the rink.
“He is regarded as one of the best players to come through the organization, and one of the top high school hockey players on this side of the state.”
Anderson passed the milestone of 100 career points earlier in the season, the highlight for him individually.
“Hitting the 100-point milestone meant a lot to me because all of the times I’ve spent shooting pucks instead of doing other things,” Anderson said. “There have definitely been times where I questioned was it all worth it because of missed plays or just not seeing the achievements I expected. But this really showed me that all of that extra time paid off.”
