IMLAY CITY — For the first time since its relaunch in 2024, the annual Blue Water Area high school basketball all-star game is heading to a new location.
Imlay City High School will host this year’s edition on Thursday, June 25. The 2024 and 2025 games were both held at Croswell-Lexington High School in Croswell.
While the scenery has changed, the format remains the same.
Five events are scheduled, beginning with the girls game at 5:30 p.m. That’ll be followed by two, 3-point shooting contests (one for girls, one for boys), a dunk contest and the boys game at 7:15 p.m.
Rosters, which are limited to seniors from this past season, will be announced at a later date.
High school all-star games for various sports were played annually in the Blue Water Area until the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. They were created by longtime Times Herald sports editor Jim Whymer, who died that same year.
For more information about the upcoming game, email Imlay City athletic director Don Gauthier at gauthier@icschools.us.
Local baseball all-star game rescheduled
After being postponed due to rain earlier this week, the 2026 Blue Water Area Senior Baseball All-Star Game has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at Richmond High School.
The exhibition, which was revived in 2022, is in its fifth year.
