The e-bike rider — a 33-year-old Ferndale resident — was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oakland County Road Commission truck was determined to be involved in the crash, and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office was called to aid with the investigation into the incident.

Further details were not immediately available, and a representative from the Road Commission could not be immediately reached for comment.

The Ferndale Police Department, however, did extend condolences to the e-bike rider’s friends and family following the loss.

The incident remains under investigation.
