The DeWitt girls basketball team was voted the winner of our fan poll taking a look at the top girls high school sports team in Greater Lansing from the 2024-25 school year.
The Panthers had a pair of players surpass 1,000 career points — Tara Kurncz and Madi Uyl — while capturing CAAC Blue, district and regional titles and reaching the Division 1 quarterfinal where they lost to eventual state champion Belleville.
DeWitt, which received 40.5% of the vote, finished the winter with a 25-2 record and had a 24-game winning streak in its latest strong season under the direction of veteran coach Bill McCullen.
