The Lions didn’t stop adding free agents after the draft. One of the latest signings is LB Joe Bachie. He will try to solidfy the Lions’ backup LB position that could use some healthy bodies. Can Bachie overcome multiple injuries in his past to help out the team?

Contract: 1 year, $1.215M
Medical Concern Level: 5/10
The 2025 toe injury is not of significant concern since he returned to play 10 games afterwards.
His 2024 groin and hip injuries are something to watch moving forward. Potentially, those are the same injury as a hip problem can cause groin pain. A hip joint or core muscle issue are possibilities.
The 2023 oblique is not a concern. The remote 2021 ACL also isn’t a concern at this point, although associated cartilage damage is a possibility.
Overall, it’s reassuring that he finished last season healthy, but there are reliability and residual concerns due to the many injuries accumulated over the past five years. His age is starting to approach 30 but is not a major issue on just a 1-year deal.
