One person was killed in a plane crash that was reported in Woodlake Saturday morning, according to Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities responded to the incident just before 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, near Road 204 and Avenue 336. The number of people on board were not available.
On Sunday morning, sheriff’s officials confirmed that one person was killed in the crash. Their identity is pending family notification.
Following the crash, Tulare County Sheriff’s Department officials advised the public to avoid the area, and several roads were closed in the area.
Tulare County Fire Department was called to the scene but due to “multiple safety concerns” crews were delayed. According to ABC30, crews had to wait on Southern California Edison to arrive at the crash site, as multiple power lines are down.
The National Transportation Safety Board has assumed the investigation, sheriff’s officials said.
