Chevy launches 'Stars and Steel' package to celebrate 250 years of USA

To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, Chevrolet is unveiling a series of red, white and blue themed vehicle packages for its most popular vehicles.

The collection, dubbed “Stars and Steel,” takes its inspiration from the American flag, the General Motors brand said Dec. 10, and is available on five models assembled in the U.S.

For every Stars and Steel vehicle sold, Chevrolet said it plans to donate $250 to nonprofits that support veterans.

The exclusive special editions and appearance packages for Chevrolet’s 2026 lineup include the Corvette, Silverado EV, Silverado LD, Silverado HD and Colorado.

Production is expected to begin in early spring 2026 with deliveries shortly after that, GM spokesman Joe Singer told the Detroit Free Press. Package pricing is to be announced at a later date.

The U.S.-based production sites are set to churn out the special editions on the same lines as regular production vehicles, with the Silverado EV constructed at Factory Zero in Detroit-Hamtramck; the Silverado light duty in Fort Wayne, Indiana; the Silverado heavy duty at Flint Assembly; the Colorado in Wentzville, Missouri, and the Corvette in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The full patriotic collection will be on display at the Army-Navy Game in Baltimore, Maryland, on Dec. 13.

Each vehicle features “curated exterior and interior color combinations, American flag-inspired graphics and select premium options that underscore patriotism,” Chevrolet said in a news release.

The Stars and Steel package will be available on every current production model of the Corvette from the Stingray to ZR1X, but will be limited to 250 vehicles, GM said.

One rarified, exclusive 2026 Corvette ZR1X with Stars and Steel inspired design is slated for auction at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, Arizona, location on Jan. 24. Chevrolet said further details on that special edition would be revealed at a later date.

The entire winning bid will support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Chevy also said, a nonprofit organization that honors fallen first responders and supports injured veterans and their families through mortgage-free homes and financial assistance.
