Meet the Greater Lansing baseball Dream Team, all-area

Here is a look at the Greater Lansing high school baseball Dream Team and all-area selections.

Kaleb Nielson

School: Williamston

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: The Grand Rapids Community College commit was a Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association Division 2 all-state selection. He hit .520 with eight doubles, four triples, one homer and 34 RBIs and 32 steals while helping the Hornets to CAAC Red and district and regional titles.

DREAM TEAM

Sebastian Blair

School: Okemos

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Blair went 4-1 on the mound with 30 strikeouts in 33 inning pitched. He had a 1.06 earned run average.

Joseph Bobeda

School: DeWitt

Year: Junior

Accomplishments: The outfielder was an all-state selection in Division 1 and contributed to the Panthers winning a district title.

Michael Bos

School: Grand Ledge

Year: Junior

Accomplishments: The pitcher went 6-2 with a 1,86 ERA and had 75 strikeouts in 52 2/3 innings for the Comets.

Jackson Fossitt

School: Leslie

Year: Junior

Accomplishments: The Kentucky commit was a Division 3 all-state selection. The outfielder and pitcher hit .416 with 15 doubles, one triple, four home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 50 runs and stole 20 bases. Fossitt was 6-1 on the mound and allowed just 18 hits in 45 innings and struck out 91 while finishing with a 1.08 ERA.

Ethan Link

School: Lansing Catholic

Year: Junior

Accomplishments: Link hit .485 and set a single-season school records with 18 doubles and 39 stolen bases. He added three triples, scored 44 runs and drove in 35 runs and helped the Cougars finish as the Diamond Classic runner-up.

Colton McCaleb

School: Mason

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: McCaleb was 7-0 on the mound with a 1.88 ERA and 99 strikeouts in 63 innings and batted .374 with 11 doubles, three triples, one homer and 29 RBIs while contributing to Mason winning Diamond Classic, CAAC Red and district titles.

Jacob Metzger

School: Holt

Year: Junior

Accomplishments: Metzger hit .440 with six doubles, nine triples, five home runs and 23 RBIs. On the mound he went 3-2 with a 1.60 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched.

Ryan Myers

School: Mason

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Myers hit .404 with eight doubles, 29 RBIs and 27 stolen bases and had an 8-5 record on the mound with 66 strikeouts and a 2.57 ERA while helping the Bulldogs to CAAC Red, district and Diamond Classic championships.

Parker Nelson

School: Eaton Rapids

Year: Junior

Accomplishments: The catcher was a Division 2 all-state selection and batted .529 with 12 doubles and had just one strikeout in 70 at-bats.

Keagan Noble

School: Okemos

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: The Northwood commit and shortstop hit .409 with 12 doubles, three triples, two home runs and drove in 26 runs and stole 24 bases while contributing to the Wolves winning the CAAC Blue title.

Brett Palmer

School: Williamston

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: The Saginaw Valley commit went 9-1on the mound with a 0.64 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched. He also hit .337 with 28 RBIs and helped the Hornets to CAAC Red, district and regional titles.

Jerryd Scheurer

School: Portland St. Patrick

Year: Junior

Accomplishments: The Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association Dream Team and Division 4 all-state selection hit .596 with 12 doubles, three triples, one home run and drove in 37 runs. Scheurer added 48 stolen bases.

Ayden Smith

School: Haslett

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Smith batted .371 with five doubles, three triples and one home run. He drove in 24 runs and stole 45 bases for the Vikings.

Charlie Thelen

School: Portland St. Patrick

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: The Division 4 all-state selection and Kellogg Community College commit hit .443 with 16 doubles, three triples, eight home runs and had 55 RBIs.

Paul VanDam

School: East Lansing

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: The Michigan State signee was a Division 1 all-state selection. He hit .404 with nine doubles, three triples, three home runs and drove in 26 runs.

Hunter VanSickler

School: Williamston

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: The Grand Valley commit was a Division 2 all-state selection and hit .476 with 11 doubles, four triples, one home run and 23 RBIs. He scored 50 runs and had 27 stolen bases.
