A 42-year-old woman from Oro Grande was arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal weapons, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities reported that at 11:04 a.m. on July 14, deputies from the Transit Operations Division, Victor Valley Transit Detail, served a search warrant at a residence in the 15000 block of Portland Street in Oro Grande.
Deputies arrested convicted felon Sarah Dayton after serving a search warrant at the location and allegedly finding various firearms, sheriff’s officials stated.
During the search, investigators located an unserialized, loaded 9mm handgun and an unserialized short-barreled AR-15 style rifle with a silencer. Both firearms are considered to be “Ghost” guns, authorities said.
Dayton was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on suspicion of a felon in possession of a firearm (two counts), possession of a short-barreled rifle and possession of a silencer, police said.
Dayton’s bail was set at $30,000, and she was released the same day, sheriff’s booking logs show.
