A Mount Vernon woman was shot and killed in the Bronx late Monday, July 13, according to New York City police.
Woman found shot outside Bronx building
According to the NYPD, officers responded to reports of an assault outside 4285 Murdock Ave. just before midnight.
Julia Anderson, 39, of Mount Vernon, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. EMS treated her at the scene before transporting her to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was pronounced dead.
Police said Anderson lived less than a mile from the shooting scene, across the Westchester County border in Mount Vernon.
Investigation continues
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to the NYPD.
