Here is a look at the Greater Lansing high school girls tennis Dream Team and all-area selections.
PLAYER OF YEAR
Isabella Portnoy
School: Okemos
Year: Junior
Accomplishments: The Michigan State commit and Division 1 first team all-state selection reached the semifinals at No. 1 singles the state finals. Portnoy was also a regional champion.
DREAM TEAM
SINGLES
Gabrielle Asher
School: Haslett
Year: Junior
Accomplishments: Asher was a Division 3 honorable mention all-state selection and was a No. 1 singles regional champion.
Isabelle Hult
School: Okemos
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: The Division 1 first team all-state selection was the state runner-up at No. 2 singles.
Maia Meghea
School: East Lansing
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Meghea was a Division 2 honorable mention all-state selection and was a regional champion at No. 1 singles.
Maddie Utrup
School: DeWitt
Year: Junior
Accomplishments: Utrup reached the semifinals at Division 2 regional at No. 1 singles.
DOUBLES
Doubles
Ani Meghea / Evie Laxton
School: East Lansing
Years: Sophomore / Junior
Accomplishments: The tandem earned Division 2 first team all-state honors and reached the state semifinals at No. 1 doubles. Meghea and Laxton won a regional title.
Juliette Smoker / Delaney Hamers
School: Mason
Years: Junior / Freshman
Accomplishments: Smoker and Hamers were named MHSTECA Division 2 honorable mention all-state and were the regional runners-up at No. 1 doubles.
Allison Krueger / Adele Leister
School: Haslett
Years: Junior / Sophomore
Accomplishments: The MHSTECA Division 3 honorable mention all-state flight finished as the regional champion at No 1 doubles.
Haven Topham / Lily Rule
School: Lansing Catholic
Years: Junior / Senior
Accomplishments: Topham and Rule were MHSTECA honorable mention all-state in Division 4. They won a regional title and made the quarterfinals at No. 1 singles at the state finals.
