The reason that the Colts have such a relatively large portion of their salary cap spent at running back is because of Jonathan Taylor’s deal.

Taylor comes with a cap hit of $15.56 million in 2026, which is the fifth-largest on the team and is the highest in the NFL among backs.

Taylor is currently set to enter the final year of his contract.

The rest of the Colts’ spending at this position is very modest. DJ Giddens and Seth McGowan are Day 3 draft picks in the early portion of their rookie deals, while Ulysses Bentley, Lincoln Pare, and Anderson Castle are all recent UDFA additions.

Of this group, Giddens has the largest 2026 cap hit at $1.111 million.
