A heat wave moving across the country will impact central Ohio starting as early as June 28 and is expected to last through the July 4 weekend.
The National Weather Service says Ohio is likely to experience extreme heat that could cause health issues for anyone who is not properly hydrated.
The local forecast calls for air temperatures in the 90s with heat indexes over 100 degrees because of the predicted humidity.
Beginning June 29, high temperatures will be in the 90s across central Ohio, according to the weather service, and overnight temperatures will remain in the 70s. There will be minimal chance for rain until July 4, providing limited chances for cooling.
