Florida students improved, testing shows. How did your school do?

The latest Florida Statewide Assessment scores for districts and schools around Lee County and the state are in.

More than 60% of Florida students met or exceeded grade-level benchmarks on state testing, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced during a June 26 morning news conference at Lakeland High School.

He touted that Florida students have made significant gains in English language arts and mathematics as a result of the statewide progressive monitoring system that was implemented five years ago.

The governor abolished the state’s former end-of-year Florida Statewide Assessment in 2021. In its place, the state implemented the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking, or FAST – progressive exams taken at the beginning, middle and end of each school year to track students’ progress toward goals.

Did your school make the grade in the new Florida Assessment of Student Thinking and statewide final exams?
