First Presbyterian Church, 3601 Taft Blvd.: At worship this Sunday, the Rev. Michael Hansen, senior pastor of the church, will continue the summer sermon series titled “Summer in the Psalms.” His sermon is titled “Waiting on God” and is based on Psalm 130:1-8.
Students from the sixth through 12th grades are invited to a pool party on June 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the home of Whitney and Allen Flack.
K-Class has begun a new study for the summer titled “Chosen: God’s Call on Ordinary People in the Bible.” The class will rotate teachers throughout the next summer months.
The Women’s ministry has begun a study guided by “Faithful,” a Bible study celebrating God’s unchanging love by exploring the lives of beloved biblical heroes. Those interested may join each week or attend when able. The group will meet in various women’s homes for each study
The Undercroft will be open for kids in grades 6-12 for fellowship time from noon through 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The program will be led by Solomon Orr, our summer youth ministry coordinator.
Vacation Bible school will be held from June 29 through July 1 at 9 a.m. through noon. Each day will be a new mission in which kids will gain experience in God’s Word, complete challenges and strengthen their faith and friendships. All those in need of pastoral care are invited to contact the church office. The church office can be reached by telephone at 940-767-2547. Sunday school for adults will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Children and youth Sunday School classes will not meet during the month of July.
