Longhorns are leading for four-star CB Brandon Sherrard

The Texas Longhorns have been landing prospects left and right for the 2027 recruiting cycle in the month of June. They’ve added nine players to be exact, and another top target is set to make his decision next Wednesday.

That player is in-state four-star cornerback Brandon Sherrard. Currently, Texas is battling LSU and Oklahoma for his commitment. He’s taken official visits to all three, with Texas getting the final one last weekend. Sam Spiegelman of Rivals feels that the Longhorns are leading as things head to the finish line.

” I believe Texas is the leader in the clubhouse for Rivals300 CB Brandon Sherrard, who will lock in a commitment on July 1. LSU and Oklahoma are also serious contenders for the four-star prospect. The Tigers have been one of the frontrunners for long stretches in this recruitment. After his official visit to Austin, there is increased optimism about Texas’ chances with the in-state target.” – Sam Spiegelman

With five-star John Meredith III already on board, getting a commitment from Sherrard would be a major win for Texas. He’s coming off a stellar junior season at Shadow Creek High School when he accumulated 35 tackles, three interceptions, and 10 pass breakups.

The Longhorns are looking to secure a top-five recruiting class in 2027, and landing Sherrard would undoubtedly help in that regard. All that’s left to do now is for them to close things out with the momentum they have.
