It’s almost time for Blue Jackets prospects to hit the ice for another NHL summer camp.
According to a June 25 release, this year’s Blue Jackets development camp will be held June 29 to July 2 at the OhioHealth Ice Haus rink attached to Nationwide Arena. Fans can attend free of charge.
Prospects from the upcoming 2026 NHL Draft (June 26-27) will be featured along with all six players chosen in 2025, including defenseman Jackson Smith (14th overall) and goalie Pyotr Andreyanov (20th overall). Cayden Lindstrom, the Blue Jackets’ top pick in 2024 (fourth overall), will also participate.
The Blue Jackets hold the 14th pick in this year’s draft plus six more picks on the second day in rounds 2-7. A full roster for development camp will be released later. The camp will conclude with a prospects scrimmage starting at 9:30 a.m. on July 2.
On-ice instruction will be led by Blue Jackets development coaches Tommy Cross, Anthony Donskov and Matthew Donskov along with Blue Jackets goaltending coach Niklas Backstrom, Cleveland Monsters goaltending coach Brad Thiessen and Monsters strength and conditioning coach Ben Eaves.
Paul Russell, a Trinity College assistant coach and member of the NHLCA BIPOC Coaches Program, will serve as guest coach. Here are the Blue Jackets’ picks from the past three drafts:
