Malik Nabers named New York Giants' biggest X-factor in 2026

Ben Arthur of FOX Sports has identified New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers as the biggest X-factor for the team heading into the 2026 season.

The third-year pass-catcher’s health and performance could prove pivotal in determining the direction of the Giants’ offense under quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Nabers tore his ACL during quarterback Jaxson Dart’s first career start last September. And after clean-up surgery in the spring to remove scar tissue, the third-year receiver’s status remains uncertain for the start of the season. Nabers’ availability and production are integral to Dart’s development as New York’s hopeful franchise quarterback.

General manager Joe Schoen recently expressed confidence in Nabers’ availability for Week 1, stating he is “trending in the right direction” while acknowledging the recovery timeline varies by patient. Head coach John Harbaugh offered an optimistic update following minicamp, noting Nabers is making strong progress and is expected to participate in training camp activities as he works toward full strength.

After a standout rookie campaign with 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2024, Nabers’ return to form would provide a major boost to an offense bolstered by veteran additions and a versatile scheme. His presence could unlock significant potential for the entire unit as the Giants pursue contention.
