The New York Jets recently concluded their mandatory minicamp period. It offered general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn a fantastic opportunity to evaluate every healthy member of their 90-man offseason roster. As per usual, some players took better advantage than others. We’ve identified two winners and two losers from the Jets’ 2026 minicamp.
Winner: Adonai Mitchell, WR
Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell was a consistent standout at offseason workouts. The midseason acquisition looks primed to establish himself as the offense’s No. 2 receiver behind Garrett Wilson. Mitchell was a handful for the cornerbacks at most practices, consistently getting open while displaying his athleticism as a route runner.
Loser: Mason Taylor, TE
The Jets need more production from tight end Mason Taylor as a sophomore. He’s already under pressure to perform after the team drafted fellow tight end Kenyon Sadiq with one of their three first-round picks. Taylor was inconsistent at practice, having struggled with occasional focus drops.
Winner: T’Vondre Sweat, NT
The Jets acquired T’Vondre Sweat in an offseason trade with the Tennessee Titans because they possessed a desire to get bigger and beefier across the defensive line. Sweat appears prepped to address that requirement as his size has been as-advertised at offseason workouts. The former Texas standout should make it difficult for the opposition to establish the football on the Gang Green this campaign.
Loser: Malachi Moore, S
Malachi Moore was once viewed as a potential future starter for the Jets, but then the offseason happened. Minkah Fitzpatrick was acquired at safety to pair with Andre Cisco in the defensive backfield. The Jets also drafted VJ Payne, adding some competition for reps in reserve roles.
