With the Chicago Bears recently wrapping their offseason program, the wait is on for training camp. But for head coach Ben Johnson, the anticipation is building. Johnson has been praised for his dedication to the game and his intensity is one that resonates with the players on the Bears roster, bringing plenty of optimism for the immediate and long-term future of the organization.
While many players may be soaking in their time away before the grind of training camp and preseason kick into gear, Johnson has put out a message that shows he’s not going to take it easy by any means once the team opens up their camp in July.
Johnson said that there are no ways to cut corners and be successful on Sundays during the season, making it clear that he’s ready to put his team through every tough test during the summer to have them prepared for the regular season.
“You know, you got to pay a price if you want to have success in this league,” Johnson said. “I don’t think there’s any way you can cut corners and expect to win on Sundays. Our type of guys, they embrace it, they want it. So, I’m looking forward to it.”
Chicago’s head coach will have to be firing on all cylinders, as the team will be looking to build off the momentum they build last year, putting together an 11-win season with a NFC North title. Although their run came up short during the playoffs, being eliminated by the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC divisional playoffs, the Bears have plenty of reasons to be optimistic, excited, and prepared for another run, as long as Johnson and quarterback Caleb Williams continue to click and the defense steps up.
