The Golden State Warriors hosted plenty of lottery prospects Thursday, including Brayden Burries (Arizona), Hannes Steinbach (Washington) and Cameron Carr (Baylor). Expected middle-to-late first-round prospects Labaron Philon (Alabama) and Bennett Stirtz (Iowa) were present as well.
Following the workout, both Burries and Philon spoke to the Golden State media, discussing their eagerness for an opportunity to play with an all-time talent like former two-time MVP Stephen Curry.
Burries said, “I’d be honored” to play with Steph Curry and looks forward to learning from the 17-year pro if the two teamed up.
As for Philon, it’s safe to say Curry has meant a lot to his basketball career. Philon said he modeled his game after the former Davidson guard growing up, admitting, “My childhood definitely had a lot of Curry jerseys.”
As for their potential fit with Golden State, Burries would be ideal given his shooting and defensive ability. However, Philon would certainly be an intriguing prospect to play behind Curry with the potential to be the team’s next star point guard after Curry retires.
