Two FHP troopers arrested in overtime bilking investigation

Two Florida Highway Patrol troopers are facing face felony fraud and theft charges in an overtime bilking investigation, according to multiple news reports.

Capt. Lenita King, the Orlando District commander, and Osceola County Trooper Maurice Vilsaint surrendered Wednesday night to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department. The charges stem from allegedly falsifying payroll records, Orlando television station WKMG-TV reported.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Department did not responded to inquiries about the case. King was being held on $30,000 bond, according to news reports.

FHP Spokesperson Madison Kessler said the agency cannot comment on an investigation being conducted by the Osceola County. “Lenita King and Maurice Vilsaint are no longer with the agency, and any further questions can be further directed to the defendants’ lawyer,” she said.
