Three women were wounded when at least one attacker opened gunfire on a large crowd at a house party in Apple Valley on Saturday, authorities said.
The shooting took place about 6:40 p.m. June 13 in a residential neighborhood along Cocqui Road, just east of Symeron Road, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
Deputies responded to reports of “numerous shots” heard when they learned a “large party” had been taking place, according to agency spokeswoman Jenny Smith.
“During the event, one or more unknown suspect(s) fired multiple rounds into the crowd, causing attendees to flee in various directions,” she said.
Investigators had identified three victims who had been injured. Their conditions were not available.
“Two victims sustained gunshot injuries, while another victim was struck by shrapnel,” according to a sheriff’s department statement.
Authorities described the victims as two 20-year-old women and one 18-year-old woman.
No arrests were reported.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” Smith said. “Detectives are currently working to identify and locate additional suspects and witnesses, and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.”
