A new bar is making its debut in northeastern Ferndale next week that embraces the no-frills vibe of a great neighborhood hangout.
Two Star Bar will open Monday at 2140 Hilton, nearly a mile from the bustling downtown area the inner-ring suburb is known for. The opening is hotly anticipated, partly because longtime locals miss Warrilow’s, which occupied this space for decades.
Two Star will have affordable food and drinks, including pizza, sliders and the Warrilow’s nachos.
“Yes, the Nacho is staying,” said co-owner Toly Ashkenazi in a press release. “We heard that loud and clear.”
“We wanted to create a true neighborhood bar — a place where everyone feels comfortable walking in, where the bartender remembers your drink, and where people can gather after work, watch a game, hangout, or simply unwind,” said Ashkenazi. “Ferndale has always embraced independent businesses, and we’re excited to be part of that tradition.”
Two Star Bar opens Monday, with a grand opening party set for June 27.
