Christian Pulisic: 'I lost my mind' at Jupiter home amid U.S. scrutiny

Christian Pulisic, the face of the United States’ men’s national soccer team, offered a candid look at one of the most controversial stretches of his professional career from his waterfront Jupiter home.

Pulisic, 27, discusses his ambitions for the 2026 World Cup and other storylines around the U.S. men’s national team in the HBO series “U.S. Against The World,” which has followed the team over the last four years.

Filmed in Jupiter, the documentary shows Pulisic opening up about injuries and his decision not to play the 2025 Gold Cup. Palm Beach County’s waterways serve as a backdrop for several interviews.

“I’ve been doing this professionally for 10 years and there have been times where I ask myself, ‘Why do I keep doing this?'” Pulisic said over footage of him boating through local inshore waterways.

Pulisic’s decision to skip the summer 2025 international window was controversial within U.S. soccer circles. Documentary filmmakers included footage of American soccer legends like Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey and Alexi Lalas criticizing the AC Milan star over his decision.

Despite deleting social media apps and his general aversion to media coverage, Pulisic admitted the scrutiny got to him at a certain point while spending time in Jupiter.

“I was pissed off about it,” Pulisic said. “I threw my phone across the room. There’s a hole in my drywall. I lost my mind for a second.”

Pulisic is regarded as one of the most talented and accomplished soccer players in United States men’s national team history.

He earned the national team’s youngest-ever captaincy at age 20 and has enjoyed a club career with elite European teams like AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea. In 2021, he became the first American to play in and win the Champions League final.

Pulisic’s absence from last summer’s competition, combined with the team’s performance under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, drew scrutiny from U.S. soccer fans and media.

He took his own dig at critics of his absence on social media, posting a gallery of photos to his personal Instagram on June 10, 2025 with the caption, “Just what the doctor ordered.”

The photo gallery included images from Palm Beach County, such as a sunset from the backyard of his Jupiter property, a golf outing and photos with his sister, who owns property in Boynton Beach and works in the local equestrian industry.

The Pulisic family is originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania. They were tied to a 2020 purchase of a Jupiter home under the corporate name CMP Resolute 2. Pulisic also registered to vote using the Jupiter address.

Pulisic’s middle name is Mate, making his initials CMP. The corporation’s manager is listed as Kelley Pulisic, who is Christian Pulisic’s mother.

Pulisic’s Jupiter home is inside a gated community on the north fork of the Loxahatchee River. It includes a boat dock, pool and putting green, which is featured in at least one video on Pulisic’s Instagram account.
