Iowa women's basketball commit wins Wisconsin state track title

After a stellar junior year at Stevens Point Area Senior High, 2027 Iowa women’s basketball commit Jada Seubert added to her impressive athletic resume by capturing a Wisconsin 4×400-meter relay state title.

On Saturday, Seubert’s relay team won the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) state title with a meet-record time of 3:50.41, edging out Waukesha West’s second-place time by 1.98 seconds.

On the basketball court, Seubert is a four-star commit, the No. 42 overall prospect, the No. 4 combo guard, and the No. 1 recruit in Wisconsin, per 247Sports. According to Prep Girls Hoops, Seubert is the nation’s No. 66 prospect and the No. 1 player in Wisconsin.

Seubert was also recently ranked as the nation’s No. 72 player according to ESPN’s SportsCenter NEXT 100 update, to go along with earning first-team All-State honors, the unanimous WVC All-Conference Co-Player of the Year, and the WVC Defensive Player of the Year.

This past season for the Panthers, she averaged 24.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.3 steals, and 3.7 assists per game, helping power the team to a state semifinal appearance.

While Seubert may not be bringing the baton to Iowa City when she starts her tenure with the Hawkeyes in 2027-28, this is still an incredible accomplishment for the 5-foot-11 rising star and should only increase fans’ excitement and anticipation.
