On Monday, June 8, a judge in Texas granted an injunction request from Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby. The decision will allow the former UC Bearcat to play for the Red Raiders during the 2026 season.
Sorsby will miss Texas Tech’s first two games, and the temporary injunction is contingent on Sorsby addressing his gambling disorder.
On June 6, Texas Tech’s appeal to have Sorsby’s eligibility reinstated was denied by the NCAA.
Sorsby, who began his career at Indiana University before starting for Scott Satterfield’s Bearcats in each of the last two seasons, has placed bets at each of his collegiate stops, including Texas Tech. Sorsby bet at least $90,000 over the last four years.
